What to see and do in the north of Tenerife
Los Realejos and its surroundings are the best base for discovering the green north of Tenerife: cliffs, trails through palm groves, volcanic sand beaches and villages with centuries of history, all just minutes from Casa La Aldaba.
Very close, in Los Realejos
Rambla de Castro is a protected natural area with trails through palm groves, the San Pedro viewpoint and the old Fortín de San Fernando. The Sendero del Agua trail runs about 4 km between Playa de los Roques and the viewpoint, and is suitable for the whole family.
La Playa del Socorro is a volcanic sand beach with Blue Flag status, well known among surfers.
The historic centre of Realejo Alto still has cobbled streets and the 15th-century Church of Santiago Apóstol.
The Mirador de la Corona it offers views over the Orotava Valley and is a paragliding launch point for those brave enough to fly over the valley.

The Teide National Park, about 30 km away, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a cable car that goes up close to the summit.

The area offers hiking (Rambla de Castro and the Camino de Santiago), paragliding in La Corona, surfing in El Socorro, and diving and boat trips along the north coast.
